Dance as protest

Activists are coming up with innovative ways to highlight how refugees are being treated in Australian detention centres.

A Perth-based activist arts group recently used dance to protest at the Yongah Hill Detention Centre in Northam.

The group is made up of dancers, journalists, musicians and technicians.

The protest managed to catch the eye of onlookers, including police officers who were monitoring the group’s movements.
