Ride-along with the ambos

The ambulance vehicles of the St John Ambulance service are a common sight across metropolitan Perth, but you often hear them before you see them.

InkWire wondered what it would be like to travel in an ambulance on the way to an emergency, and be confronted by the sight of an injured person on arrival.

The people at St John let us ride along in an ambulance for a day.

Due to the daylight hours of our ride, we were expecting a reasonably quiet experience.

But soon enough the siren started wailing …
