An Osborne Park business has suffered $450,000 of damage after a fire broke out in a warehouse last night.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said a 000 call was received about 10pm after a neighbour noticed the flames in Baden St.
Firefighters from Osborne Park, Daglish and Perth were sent to respond.
The DFES spokeswoman said the fire was under control and fully contained by 11pm.
” At 11.39pm the crew was dealing with some hot spots and ventilating the area,” she said.
Fire investigators and the arson squad arrived after 5.30am and determined the cause of the fire was not suspicious.
The fire is believed to have started in the fridge and freezer area of the unit.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services district officer Mark Feast, who was at the scene, said the smoke and burns to the building indicated where the fire began.
A neighbouring business owner said the unit was mostly gutted when he went to look at the damages.
” The police had to cut two other roller doors to get in,” he said.
” This is the second time in the 20 years I’ve been here it’s happened.”
