A man has died and two more are injured after a triple shooting in Banksia Grove last night.
Det-Insp. Mark Fyfe today revealed the victims had bikie connections. He would not identify the bikie gang.
“Whether it is associated with the shooting or not, I don’t know at this time,” he said.
Police were called to the home in Cassia Link about 10:30pm after at least three shots were fired.
A 53-year-old man was also shot in the leg and a 24-year-old man was shot in the arm.
The injured men, who are father and son, are in a stable condition at Royal Perth Hospital.
Det-Insp. Fyfe said the deceased man, 23, was related to the injured men.
“I’ve heard step-son, but I’ve also heard cousin, so until I can confirm that I can’t honestly say which he is,” he said.
The victims were at the house with seven other people when the shooter arrived. Police said the victims were unarmed and the type of gun has not been identified.
Det-Insp. Fyfe said the shooter came to the house and shot the victims on the driveway and the road before fleeing.
He said it was assumed there was only one shooter and the car had not been identified.
“I believe there’s some CCTV, very grainy footage, but I haven’t viewed it myself,” Det-Insp. Fyfe said.
“It might show some headlights. That car may or may not be involved, I don’t know.”
He said the witnesses were still being interviewed, while forensic investigators were examining the scene.
“It is of great concern to us,” Det-Insp. Fyfe said.
“We’re obviously putting everything we can into this, as we do with every murder investigation.”
