About 9.30am on April 26, a 34-year-old woman was walking along Station Street when she noticed a man walking towards her.
He walked past and then doubled back, running toward her and grabbing her handbag.
While the victim was not seriously injured, she was dragged along the ground while she held on to her bag.
The man ran down Henry Street.
He is described as being 20 to 30 years of age, about 185cm tall, with a large build, dark complexion, short black hair and brown eyes.
He was wearing a red t-shirt with a large white logo on the front, black shorts and no shoes.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or who can help them identify the man, who was caught on camera.
