Police recover $150,000 of stolen property

Midland Detectives have recovered more than $150,000 worth of stolen property over the past week.

Trucks, bobcats, a crane, a remote-controlled drone, laptops and a high-tech camera system were found.

The items were seized from five different commercial premises, including depots and warehouses in West Swan, Swan View, Henley Brook, Caversham and Bullsbrook.

Seven people have been charged with a total of 48 offences ranging from burglary to unlawful possession.

Police said the offenders were stealing items to on-sell to buyers at below-retail price.

Midland Detectives Det-Sgt Gary Butler said police had been conducting an operation, code-named Jet Star, for six weeks.

“We’re pretty satisfied that we’ve established who the majority of the offenders are and we’re happy that we’ve apprehended those people,” he said.

Three of those charged will appear in court next month.
