Over the past 25 years, adoption rates in Australia have fallen 74 per cent.
Last year, only 83 children were adopted from overseas countries.
Four of these children were from China.
There are more than 600,000 orphans and abandoned children in China, and 98 percent of them are listed as having a disability.
Inside orphanages and care homes the complexities of both the Chinese and Australian adoption programs are brought to life.
